'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues battle with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic closing stages of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear amid the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a long-range shot from distance, and his teammate immediately slammed home the rebound before sprinting toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. In the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a next round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about way out going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that far out," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right flank after Orient changed tactics. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

City's Quality

"Physically they are outstanding but even the simple things and simple things, they can just perform consistently," Galbraith says. "It appears that they never miss a pass and they are adept at manage and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even noticing. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It takes a strong mentality and attention just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Orient and has rapidly replicated that in his new home. At his previous team he reunited with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a spell at League Two Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think many athletes would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without real physicality. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for club and country, shining for Northern Ireland, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including home and away encounters against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his eye for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This represents quite the ride for the kid from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Old Trafford Memory

The player's sole appearance for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was sealed owing to conditions of -15C. "It was a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he says, smiling. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a learner's exam, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the drivers, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to socialize with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and on the road. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would blend in with followers on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
